 Thomas P. Carson, MD, FACC, FAAP
Dr. Carson is a Board Certified Pediatric Cardiologist. He received his undergraduate degree in Clinical Chemistry and his Medical Degree from the University of South Florida, Tampa, FL., in 1979. He completed his residency training in Pediatrics at Emory University, Atlanta, GA., with a Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Emory University as well. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics since 1985 and Pediatric Cardiology since 1988.

Dr. Carson is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Academy of Pediatrics.  He has served as chairman of Pediatrics at Florida Hospital 2000, 2001 and 2002.  He also served as secretary/ treasurer, president elect of Florida Hospital Medical staff from 2006 through 2009 and is now President  of Florida Hospital Medical staff.  He is a member of KidsDocs and also a clinical assistant professor for the Florida State University College of Medicine.  Dr. Carson has been listed among "Best Doctors in America" from 1998 to 2008.

Dr. Carson has been in private practice in Orlando since 1984. He lives their with his wife and has 2 children.


 Scott Appleton, MD, FACC, FACP
Dr. Appleton is Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology. He received his undergraduate and Medical Degrees, with Honors in Research from the University of Florida. He completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina, and a Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.

For eight years Dr. Appleton served as Asst. Professor of Pediatric Cardiology at St. Louis University where his duties included interventional cardiac catheterizations, transesophageal echocardiography, fetal echocardiography and all aspects of pediatric cardiology. He was the director of the Echocardiography Laboratory and Medical Director of the Pediatric Heart Transplant Program.  Dr. Appleton is a clinical assistant professor for Florida State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Appleton is a Fellow with the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Florida Medical Association, the Orange County Medical Society, and KidsDocs.

Dr. Appleton has been practicing pediatric cardiology in Orlando since 1994.  He lives in Orlando with his wife, Dr. Karen Anijar-Appleton and their 3 children, Josh who is in graduate school at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Brooke in college at University of Central Florida and Caroline in college at Arizona State University.

                                                          Sumbal Sattar, MD
 Dr Sattar is a recent addition to our team as of Jan. 4, 2010.  She graduated from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan and then moved to Chicago where she did part of her Pediatric Residency training at the John H Stroeger Hospital of Cook County. She then completed her Pediatric Residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami, where she also went on to do her fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiology. She is board certified in Pediatrics.  Dr. Sattar is also interested in fetal echocardiograms.

She moved to the Orlando area with her husband , who is an adult cardiac electrophysiologist, and her two young boys.
